Habitat for Humanity is an ecumenical housing ministry that enables lower income individuals and families to be homeowners, doing so by bringing together the good will of literally hundreds of thousands of people who believe that no one should live in substandard housing. Many in such circumstances are caught in a cycle of poverty and feel hopeless that they will ever break out of this vicious circle.
But some refuse to give in believing that one day they can experience a measure of success that comes with homeownership. Habitat works with these individuals and families offering hope by working in partnership to help them help themselves by building together simple, decent, affordable houses. The ReStore plays an important part in funding this ministry. The Habitat for Humanity-Lima ReStore was opened on June 4, 2008 and is one of 25 ReStores in Ohio and 500 throughout Canada and the United States. Each ReStore is independently operated by the Habitat for Humanity affiliate serving that community.
ReStore accepts donations of new, or gently used saleable items for the home--from building materials to appliances to light fixtures to paint and a whole lot more. Our inventory includes cabinets, lighting and plumbing fixtures, doors, lumber, flooring, and windows – all sold at a discount of 50-75% off the retail price.
